yes, it was melting on the front corners where it was contacting the heat sheild. There was a reflective strip between it and the tank, but still caused some minor melting. I was able to see it just by removeing the sides.

Had a look at the arctic fx website, and looks like you are right. I really like them, they stand out great.

Well dealer confirmed what everyone has been saying, noise is normal. Too bad ... I am sure the rattle has caused lots of people concern. Oh well deffinately not looking for trouble, enough seems to be coming along on its own.

Took my sled into the dealer to have a loud primary clutch looked at and he says my trail tank is melting. Sled is an 09 XTX and I bought it used from a skidoo dealer. Yes, the clutch seems to engage consitantly, sled runs great just seems way too loud.

Most noticeable at idle. You can hear it when starting the engine as well. With the side cover off it is pretty apparent it's from the primary clutch. Not too loud when shutting down.

Pretty bad here as well. There was no snow untill just before Christmas, no grooming so far on any trails in my area. Still very little snow.

This saturday started up my 09 xtx and both tail and headlights did not come on. After 4-5 minutes of idleing they both turned on. Temp was -23 c I think that's around -9F. Is this suposed to happen or something to worry about. Thanks.

Any one hearing a rattle/knock from the primary clutch area of their 09 xtx? Seems to be loudest at idle. Sled has under 2000 miles and warranty just ended in sept.
