Love the looks of the LTX 40th! Good friend of mine bought one for '08 and I thought the same thing... different skis would kick. Looking at it, white skis with red loops might be catchy JMO.
THis is the first I heard about increased hyfax wear with the Cobra. I put one under my RTX this spring and look forward to comparing it to the stock Ripsaw. Changed hyfax as well, but sounds like I should get another pair before the snow flies. Wonder why the Cobra chews up sliders faster...
Don't want to sound like a broken record, but I just wanted to reiterate what everyone who uses the Bergstrom skegs are saying. I put the shim kit and ski savers on my stock skis along with the 6" triple points 2 years ago. The darting issues just went away (more from the shim kit), and the...

Sweet looking pictures!!! They did a nice job on the rear skid. Are the rear axle wheels new, or are they the original. I went with the same (black) wheel as you, but replaced my axle wheels with the black spoke style. I can't wait to see how the "Dormant Red" looks on the '06 RTX.
Patiently waiting to get my arms back from Half Baked Coatings. Should be here by the end of the week, and can't wait to get it back together. Kevin up at Port Yamaha set me up with 6 of the new style idler wheels and 2 rear axle wheels (and a few bearings for the upper wheels). That guy knows...
