1st: check fuel injection system fuse (10a) if checks out then
2nd: check fuel injection system relay. Should be getting 12v to the top of the plug (bottom slot of the T shaped plug)
3rd: When keyed on the relay should click and the middle pin of the T shaped plug should get 12v (jumping these...
Pulled the injector apart, and sure enough, the pintle had two big spots of corrosion on it preventing it from opening without help. Case closed!
You can see the spots if you zoom in under the windows on the pintle. They're a dark brown/black
Bought 2 leftover fuel injectors at the dealer (1 and a spare) the new Yamaha Viper uses the same injector part #! She's running good now, I will say though just letting the injectors sit on the shelf from the parts place made one a little sticky. Make sure to blip them with 12v before you put...
Used the sled's diagnostic mode to test both injectors, and could hear each one "pop" but the pto side sounded weaker and unpon looking down the throttle bodies showed it wasn't spraying any fuel. I took them out and sure enough, I can't even get any air through the pto injector when blipping it...
I saw your post and hope I can clean them and get riding again. I'll post what I find tomorrow night! I just fear it's bound to happen again until all the junk works out of the lines and fuel rail
Haven't tried testing the injectors, but I will Friday. It has to be the wiring or ones plugged right off. I'll do the diagnostic mode injector cycle first, and if I can hear it clicking I'll know it's plugged off. If I sound I've probably got wiring issues
I first thought it was a plug issue, but if the sled wasn't getting spark on that 1 cyl, shouldn't the spark plug be soaked with fuel and there be a definite gassy smell? The plugs are NGK CR8EKB's and I couldn't find if this was an accetable plug to run.
I'm thinking that either it's a wiring...
Recently bought an 2008 phazer with 850 miles that's been sitting for about 2 years. PO put new plugs in it and drained the old gas and put fresh in. Ran good so I bought it. Got home and took it out to ride around the field, and it ran good. Tipped it on its side when carving, and hit the kill...
I wasn't totally sure where to post this, so my apologies if it's in the wrong section!
First off, my current ride is a 1999 Arctic Cat Z370, so take that into account. But I have been on an RX1, '08 Rev 600, I own a Raptor 660 and have been on countless yamaha's dirtbikes (450 included.)...
