If it’s the starter wouldn’t the gauge pod still power up and the Speedometer needle still cycle when the key is turned on. I know it has been mentioned that the carb models don’t do this but he has driven the sled for the past 6 or 7 years so I’m pretty sure he knows if this happens or not.

That’s exactly what I thought guys, thanks. I just wanted to confirm it just in case. Didn’t think the viper engine would be much different than the attack or RX1 for oil, especially since they all take the same oil to begin with. At $32/liter I will never use yamalube again.

I did a search and found nothing about using this oil in the vipers. I used it in my RX1 and still use it in my wife’s attack without issues. Are there any of you using it in the vipers. On a side note I went to my usual Yamaha place to get some 0w40 yamalube and they wanted $32 for a liter so...
