I had Semi aggressive from previous owner on my 13. Pushed like crazy. I went to 6" shaper bars. Much better with very little darting. Best option for me would be c&a razors but way too expensive.
Like others said above, get more pressure on the skis. Choke up on limiter straps one hole...
I would say no. Yes 2011+ is much more refined but I liked the 121 better. Its lighter. The new ones don't have that airbox bark.
If yours has all nice updates done... Keep it. If you want power steering and a taller seat along with a more bulletproof machine... Then go for it
I just went through my suspension. Note the end of the shock as well as the transfer rod have needle bearings in them. They should be disassembled and greased when you pull the suspension out. The a-arm pivot he showed at the video start is the same with needle bearings.
Also, the ski bolt...
Not sure if you use the electronic adjust much but I have been told the kyb(standard shocks) were actually more durable. You just lose adjustability with them (no compression adjustment). With a revalve they ride pretty good. Remember to set your sag.
Steel will work just fine. The wear will be transferred to your bolts which are easy to replace anyway.
However, is it really that hard to get a roundstock chunk of oil impregnated bronze? It machines very easily. Call any general machine shop. They might have some.
The oilite material has...
Hey everyone I have been trying to follow this. I have a 2013 apex with under 10 000kms. As far as I know exhaust has not been touched. I had no reason to worry about it last year as it has always had a pretty easy life and ran great with no leaks.
If I tear into this, what donuts do I use...
This was a great thread with great info. Bottom line is that these sleds all require time spent to get the setup correct. Season is short and many don't spend this time.
Have no idea if it will help in this situation but cannot hurt in my opinion. I used to use this stuff on my dirt bike header years ago. Secret is to let it dry and setup for at least 24 hours before running the machine! Otherwise it'll just burn away.
Cheers!
Following this one.....
I have a 2013 standard Apex. After a revalve of the stock kyb it rides pretty good. However, I really dislike how there is only rebound adjustment on this shock where as my previous 07 had the ohlins with compression, rebound, and I could easily change the spring...
I can say semi-aggressive snow trackers push. Definitely try aggressive if you want front end bite. No I have not tried them. I am going back to shaper bars only because of the cost or I would try the trackers. No darting is very very nice!
I used the Woody's template. Same sled. 153 studs. 3 per bar, 52 double backers. The last row I had to pick a pattern as it did not work out. Picked one in the middle and all is great.
Good luck
Ok. I'll try. Let's say the shock has two main functions. 1) when it compresses it uses compression damping. Your gytr shocks have a clicker to adjust. (All the way in limits the amount of oil effectively stiffening the compression stroke)
2) Rebound. After hitting a bump the spring will...
You could try a few things.
- Ensure your front shock springs are adjusted evenly to have very little preload. Too much and the center of gravity is higher.
- If it is an Apex GT you could turn the compression clickers to two clicks out. This will provide more compression damping to achieve...
Hey man what kind of riding do you do? I have the same machine and weigh about 220. Raced motocross for years so I understand suspension.
After a revalve(with stock spring) from Frank @ Shocktec (Ontario) I can honestly push this thing through most trail junk. Yes it will bottom over a g-out...
