I just wanted to share this if anyone is wanting to make a cheap exhaust. I used a Thrush 24041 muffler. Fits damn near perfect after some minor fabrication.
I made this a couple weeks ago and finally tried it out yesterday. I like it but I must warn you it is extremely loud at wide open...
Well I must have jinxed myself. Last weekend my sled got way louder during my ride. To the point my ears were ringing by the time I got home. With the sled running I plugged the exhaust with my hand and it kept running fine.... I thought maybe my donuts were shot so I started pulling it apart...
Thanks. Yes I'm still running this setup. Sorry don't have any sound clips of it. Sounds pretty good, not too loud. I might try make one with a glasspack and see how that sounds.
Looks identical, you'd think we ordered a kit! Still haven't had a chance to try it at night. But after last weekend I can say it takes out willows with no problems haha
Ya I'm looking forward to trying it out. I see your from Manitoba also so you know the snow conditions around here. I'm not taking the sled out until we get some more snow. Road to South Beach for supper a few weeks ago and it was less than ideal. More bull rushes than snow in parts!
Thanks. I...
I finally received my switches in the mail today. I wired the power staight from the battery. Still don't have a ride report as tje snow conditions suck. Here are a few pics of the install.
I decided to put the light bar on a separate switch straight from the battery. I was worried it might mess with the computer if I put extra draw on that circuit.
I'm actually still waiting on my switch to show up in the mail, hopefully will be here tomorrow. I'll post some photos once I install...
On the weekend I had my axle nut fall off and lost my rear wheel (and just about lost the entire axle before I noticed). I did some research on this site and found that the older SRX/SX use the exact same wheels as the Nytro. Last night I bought a used complete rear axle with wheels and it is a...
The XTX actually faster top speed then the 121". I believe it's due to a more gradual angle on the front of the skid. Stretch the 121 longer and now you have more rotating mass and a poor (speed robbing) angle on the track, the XTX will definitely be faster.
On my 09 RTX I lost 5-10 mph just changing to a 1.75" 121 track. It seems to really be effected by snow conditions with the larger lug. Yesterday was warmer and snow was kind of sticky. I was only getting 90-91 mph. On a cold day with hardpack I can get 98 mph.
I like it over a trailer. My deck is steel and even with the apex and nytro up there the truck handles it fine. I do have air bags and a rear sway bar which definitely helps. I'e never weighed it but I suspect I would be over the "legal" weight. Nobody ever checks weights where I live though. As...
Added a light bar to my Nytro today. I had always found it to be pretty bad riding at night. It seemed the headlight was either pointing at the sky or too close with no happy medium. This is a 6" double row LED light bar I purchased on Amazon. I made some custom brackets that attach to the...
They stayed clean for me last year. They'e high enough that the spray off my truck doesn't touch them. If you were following close to a semi or large truck I could see them getting spray
Ya I could see possible heat issues with my plate and a stock exhaust. I made that exhaust, and couldn't fit the rear plastic piece back on with it. Don't think it looks bad. The plate still exposes the headers so I get air flowing under the seat. Those half plates look like they should...
