I ran Curves on my Viper with Shapers initially. A bit too much traclking/darting so I went with Slim Jim's on the recommendation of MrSled. They definitely cured the darting. They did not last exceptionally long though and it seemed on sticky snow trails they liked to pack up and push. I...
Interesting idea and I agree on the drone. I'd think that the exhaust turbine would be more responsible for the smooth tone, but maybe there is something to this idea.
New modern incarnation of the old Gtech/Gtech pro. I actually used my old Gtech (accelerometer version not GPS) on my Sportsman ATV when doing PC-V tune testing and clutching work and it was quite consistent and repeatable on my 0-60 runs. I prefer to make a minimum 3 runs and if they are...
It would involve machining the drive axle smaller, but I wonder about using a speedi sleeve on the axle to get the correct interference fit of the bearing?
I don't care for droning noise but I saw the OE mufflers breaking apart so I changed mine with a first gen MBRP and it failed. It cracked apart due to poor design and testing. I think MBRP just shoves crap out the door and tests in the hands of the consumer. Personally, I feel that any of...
Unless I missed something your results are unique and could be a number of factors from wrong base weight to potential early prototype units. Do what you like, but you've already learned a system that works.
I favor the Ulmer kit because I have the most time with it, but if you need a lot of coaching and tech support the guys at TP tend to be more available these days.
I'd suggest you choose your belt size and compound first. I got sick of the dust from the Yamaha belts and went Gates, but just...
50Y or 50YS base weights. I'm not sure which one is used with which configuration other than the first kits had 50Y. Any further weight recommendations I give would be worthless as my track and gearing change everything.
The Ulmer kit was one of the first to market. Carried over components in a different recipe than the Nytro. COTC came out when Bill started angling to make a name for himself and launch a hobby business. Very few knowledgeable tuners use the flat profile weights. Thunder products (Lonn...
I'm curious how Trackers work on the Curve ski compared to slim dually's? Is there a major effect on steering effort? It's not that I feel they steer exceptionally hard, but I do find it much more fatiguing than the Doo with trackers. Some is noise and vibration I'm sure.
OPO is a low start, heavy finish. OYO is even lower start rate. Both Yamaha springs. Ulmer kit contents can vary I guess, but OPO or OYO and STM weights are pretty much a staple of the primary side.
Best thing you can do with the shocks is add the DSC valves and have them revalved. I had Fox Midwest do the DSC valves and minor revalve to soften. I then had Carver do them and that is what made them shine.
DSC increases oil flow to and from the res which is a very big deal.
Hard to do a multi quote so I just picked this one.
For a wife's sled and not a gearhead the 900 ACE is tough to beat. Yes the ITC throttle is herky jerky in sport mode, but put it in standard and it's just fine. No it's not fun if you like to saw on the throttle, but rolling in is smooth...
