I always felt the Viper exhaust tone was a bit annoying on long days. My buddy actually wears ear plugs as the noise really bothers him. Sidewinder exhaust tone is nice and smooth and quiet so I'm in the process of retrofiting one on Viper. I had some flanges cut out and was able to utilize piping from the sidewinder muffler to fit it up for a viper.

Definitely quieter at idle! Anxious to run this in the field once done and see how it sounds. I suspect it will be slightly louder than sidewinder as I am sure the turbo muffles sound some.

Few things to address yet.

Muffler exit does not match up to hole in lower panel. Will likely make up an offset plate that closes stock hole and also locates new hole to be cut into plastic.

Front hanger on muffler needs something to hook into. Going to see if viper will accept the cast iron cross brace from winder. If it fits then muffler will be fully supported as it is on sidewinder.

Interesting idea and I agree on the drone. I'd think that the exhaust turbine would be more responsible for the smooth tone, but maybe there is something to this idea.
