Thanks again for helping me understand the procedure. This site is great. Do you happen to remember the length & thread design of the new bolt you used to mount the outside wheel to the lower shock shaft.

What parts & part no's did you use to mount an extra set of wheels to the outside of track to the lower shock mount shaft. These are the wheels in front of the stock ones
Thanks again for all your information. I will have to decide using the smaller wheels ( which really spin faster ) or drilling another hole 1'' closer to the limiter strap cross shaft & use the original wheels .
These are the ones that I was talking about. They are very sturdy. My original boots that I bought years ago are very similar but are not that beefy as those. They used to be cheaper from track.
How far forward did you mount the 2 inner wheels so that they would not hit the lower shock mount when sitting on the machine. ( different weight makes a difference) I installed the inner wheel mounting holes at 7'' from the mount bolt of the limiter strap, but the lower relay rod mounting nuts...
I bought 2 sets of these boots quite a few years ago. I cannot find the same ones that I have, but I have seen other boots that look almost like mine at a yamaha dealer. If I remember, if you do a search you will find them on the web. They only come in black if I remember & cost around 90.00...
