I would definitely say it was the float height. If sled runs great and only looses it after more than a few seconds at WOT, the carbs are out of gas. If you plan on doing this more often, readjust the float height to the lowest spec setting, so the floats sit higher in the bowls, allowing a...
I had to readjust mine on the 05 RX Warrior. I used a flat head screwdriver and lightly bent the little tab that the needle hangs on. Only way to adjust them with this design. Do it while they are attached and on the carb to make it easier. Hold the float up and bend the tab down very little...
Being that your sled runs good at idle and light throttle, it sounds like your pilot jets are good and carb boots are good. If it hangs at higher RPM after throttling up, I would first point at the slides hanging slightly open, causing a lean situation or just gas still flowing into the carb...
I have tightened that lock nut by the jackshaft bearing several times and it never stays. Have not seen any effect with over 2000 miles since I started noticing it. It appears if everything is tight in the chain case and brake area, the nut on the other side is pointless. Just my observation.
Remove the chain case and then there is another access by the right floor board for getting to that bearing. I was able to find pictures and instructions on here for the whole job, just search. Remember there are set screws in the shaft for getting the bearings off so it doesn't take much force.
Forgot to add that I dropped the main needles all the way down (top notch) to attempt to block the fuel coming out of the nozzle too early. Only difference noticed was lack of speed at WOT. They were previously set at the third notch down which would be the middle position.
Happened to me last year. Sharp knife, needle nose pliers and spinning the primary backwards got it free for me. About 20 minutes of cutting and pulling in a dark field. The engine bolts behind the clutch were the biggest pain because they are so tight to the clutch.
I have owned my sled for two years now and have watched my gas mileage plummet. I am down to under 7 miles per gallon. I can clean the carbs in my sleep at this point and have done lots of checks and am lost. When riding, there is a faint odor of gas, but we have checked several times and...
