Looking for a Group to Ride with in Bangor

Hi All. My riding buddies have moved out of state so I'm looking for a group to ride with this season. I went to one of the local club meetings tonight, and I'll just say that the people were less than welcoming. Actually the most unfriendly people I've ever met in the sport of snowmobiling...

RX-1 Safe Lifting with Motorcycle Jack?

Hi guys. Snow is here in Maine! Took my first ride in almost 3 years yesterday and the smile was ear to ear. Anyway. Just wondering if it is safe to lift the front of the sled under the engine with a motorcycle lift / jack. This is my first 4 stroke and I'm not exactly sure if it is safe to...

Looking for a Mild Trail Clutch Setup

Well, after some additional research I think I'm going to try the blue-pink-blue primary with the 8ES weights; stock secondary spring.

Looking for a Mild Trail Clutch Setup

Hi Guys. Going through my machine. I realized that the clutch setup in there now is not stock as I thought. I haven't removed either of the clutches as of yet, however from what I can see the primary spring is solid black; secondary is black with a pink stripe. No idea on weights / helix as...

RX-1 Mirror Options - Any Photos?

Yeah, that's the kit that I ordered. I think it's probably the best. I found a photo of the cowl mounted wind deflector / mirrors and don't like them at all. So I think I'll stick with these :)

RX-1 Mirror Options - Any Photos?

Hi Guys. I've been searching all over the web trying to find photos of the various Yamaha mirror options. I ordered the factory "Venture " style mirror kit that bolts to the windshield, however now I've found 2 other mirror kits that I would like to see photos of mounted and also get feedback...

New to 4 Strokes. Looking at RX-1 & Have Questions

I called the Yamaha dealer and they quoted me.....wait for it.....$320. I laughed. There's a custom cycle builder locally that I think will do it for half of that. I loathe cleaning carbs, and I'm not sure if I have the patience to even attempt synching them, not to mention the required tool(s).

New to 4 Strokes. Looking at RX-1 & Have Questions

Thanks for all of your responses, guys. I'm going to buy the sled tomorrow. I really hate cleaning carbs and have never synched a set before, however I have to say when I heard that thing rev yesterday I fell in love. I never thought a sled could sound sweeter than a piped 2-stroke triple...

New to 4 Strokes. Looking at RX-1 & Have Questions

OK. It was a constant flashing orange triangle. No codes that I noticed; just flashing. Fuel gauge only had 1 bar on it. Also snow was minimal here in Maine; only a couple of inches but it was pretty cold outside. I can't see the sled wanting to overheat if it hadn't even warmed up however...

New to 4 Strokes. Looking at RX-1 & Have Questions

Thanks for the reply. He was asking $2,850 which is a little below what similar sleds in the area are going for. I offered 2,600 originally then lowered it to 2,500 after the idle issue was discovered and he said that he would accept that. So does the temp light just flash until the sled is...

New to 4 Strokes. Looking at RX-1 & Have Questions

Hello all and happy Thanksgiving! I'm returning to the sport after a 3 year break. I've always had 2-strokes in the past. Last night I went and looked at an '04 RX-1 with just under 3,600 miles. Other than it needing a new seat, 2 tiny spots of rust on the A-arm, and part of the plastic on...
