Hi Everyone,
I know this post is older but I ran into this same issue out on the trails 2 weeks ago and was stumped...luckily my father pulled me home (32 miles) on a Vector so Yamaha Power still wins! Also he pulled us 45-50 across the lakes which I thought was impressive pulling a fat and...
So first off I want to give a huge thank you to this awesome site yet again!
I disassembled the sled again, took the starter relay off and checked out where the fuse leads were heading and WHOA, they were heading to the wrong side (Vector?)
So I took the fuse lead off my old relay and popped...
I am going to give that a try tomorrow. Weather wasn't cooperating today so I had a few other projects that needed attention sooner. I have to swap the fuse bracket as the one on the old relay had a broken fuse tab inside that I couldn't get out.
Is there a way to know the difference between...
I wish...I've checked more than once hoping that was it. I'm going to mess with the relay fuse blocks tomorrow and hopefully that 'll do it. All the rain hitting the area today and tomorrow is making this easier to deal with as compared with prime snow on the trials so I guess that's a plus.
Thanks for all the replies everyone. So I may be a little slow but is there a trick to getting the fuse blocks off of the starter relay? I can't seem to get them to move and am not sure as to how much force to put on them to 'pop' off if they aren't supposed to do that at all.
According to the Yamaha Parts Website Yes - 5LW-81940-02
The only thing is that the Starter Relay I took off my sled did not have the metal connection from the positive terminal going under the fuse. (The metal piece on the left side of the photo)
Hey everyone,
Thanks again for all the help but I'm in need of a little more...
So before I was getting no fuel pump but the sled was turning over fine.
I ended up discovering that the fuel fuse located on the starter relay under the airbag was broken and I couldn't get it out so I just...
Thanks for the replies everyone,
I'm going to give it the old college try again either tonight or tomorrow morning. I'll double check all my fuses and follow the wires. I'm hoping I'm just missing or maybe missed something before and it's a quick fix. Holiday season isn't a good time to "apply"...
Alright so here I am...annoyed and stinking like gas....I've replaced the relay's, cleaned and reassembled the plug connection under the airbox and now just replaced the fuel pump....still I get nothing. Swapping the relay to the older style I still get the click but I get nothing from the fuel...
Yea, Sorry about that. The relay was clicking which made me think that was the culprit. As I said I put in a new (red) relay which my understanding is solid and not mechanical and shouldn't click. I also cleaned the connector plug under the airbox. I swapped the new relay to another older style...
Thanks for the tips guys, I popped off the seat and checked the plug/wires. Nothing, everything looks and feels fine. My tester was being difficult but it was showing power to the plug when the ignition was turned on. My storage place is usually pretty free of mice which is not to say that that...
Hey everyone,
So here's the situation. I have an 07 Apex RTX and I'm getting no fuel pump when I turn the key.
Now I bought this sled new back in 07 and have done all of my own maintenance since purchased. I've just replaced the fuel pump solenoid by your left foot and also cleaned and grease...
