If you remove the hood on your sled, Look behind fuses, you have a few sensors located on a metal plate there. One of them in your map sensor and has a small vacuum line attached to the bottom. If you remove that line often times the condensation will build up and need to be drained out. I have...
No issues with laying the sled on its side to install skid plate. As stated above, I often use VP race gas cans to get my sled higher up in the air to work under it/change oil. Things that aren't easy on the lift a sled lift or the electric rafter hoist.
After having an apex, a sidewinder ltx le and now a viper I cant argue the fact the apex truly is an amazing sled. I still have one of my two 2007 apex's. It has around 9,000 miles and brings a smile to my face each time I ride it. It mostly hangs tight in the garage, but every time my...
I am willing to bet it is a faulty map sensor, or the map sensor line has water/condensation in it. Seems to be a more and more common problem with the sidewinder platform. I know my sidewinder had that same issue a few years back. It was a bugger to figure out.
You commented back and fourth with me on a thread a few weeks ago. Not really sure what the route cause was. But 3 bearings that lost all of the balls. After a new shaft and an SKF bearing I managed to ride it once without issue. Our season is done here in Northern New York. Sadly enough I have...
I just recently installed a new driveshaft and both the brake caliper and chaincase bearing with SKF bearings. I had ordered the OEM bearings from Country cat as well. I ended up getting the SKF as per Turboflash recommendations for a better bearing. Just comparing the Arctic Cat (Peer) bearing...
Yes the three caliper bolts are tight and loctited. I am going to dive into it on my days off Monday/Tuesday. I think I am going to put a new OEM drive axle in it that I have as a spare, new OEM being for now to finish off the winter and go back to the 21/41 gearing.
Side Note: I was running...
I am open to suggestions. I am unsure of how I could have installed the driveshaft without being seated correctly. The bearing was pressed into caliper until it was flush with the bottom. Snap ring fit on both ends. If there is something I am missing in the installation procedure please...
Bearing on the chaincase side feels great when rotating by hand, appears not to have moved from being bottomed out in case. I am unsure what is happening. I had worn drivers on the original drive axle after 4800 miles. So instead of changing drivers I installed a newer drive axle that was...
Hello all, Looking for some guidance. I have a well setup 2017 sidewinder LTX LE with Turbo Dynamics multi map bundle and all supporting modifications for stage 6. The sled currently just passed 5,000 miles and I LOVE this sled. It has been a royal pain in the A$$ but worth the problems. With...
Sorry to hear of your misfortune. I will say that early this season I was testing my 2017 Sidewinder on a very high HP race tune. I had an oil hose from the bottom of oil tank come off (Loose Clamp) it leaked every drop of oil from the sled. After finishing the long WOT pull when I started...
I just recently built my own harness to utilize the new Cat magnetic tether on my 2017 sidewinder. I have a few photos of videos. If you would like to DM me I can give you my Cellphone Number and help you out.
