Well I had an unfortunate accident with my sled that broke my back and took me out for the season. I’m healing and getting better and my ego/pride is hurt pretty bad. I’ve been sledding for 25 years and had a slow speed whoopsie daisy.
The damage to the sled is a couple of broken plastic panels and windshield which isn’t really a big deal. The part I’m concerned about is when I crashed the sled it flipped over and pinned the throttle full open. The sled eventually shut itself off due to no oil pressure, but I don’t know if at full throttle if it may have damaged some of the internal bearings. My buddies the next day took it out for a mile or two and everything seemed okay. I would just hate for next season to get some miles on the motor and something bad happens.
I have insurance on the machine and plan on getting all the broken plastic fixed, but if an engine issue comes up next snow season then I think I might be screwed.
The easy answer is well ride it and see what happens…. Well I can’t drive and I’m several hours away from the snowmobile trails. My buddies aren’t going to take a day away from their families and work to do that for me.
Has anyone ever dealt with a situation like this “Full Throttle and ran it out of oil” and everything is okay?
Thanks,
