Autotune with the PCV works well. Let it do it's thing and off we go.
Only getting 5 psi of boost - need to adjust the waste gate. Massive potential in this thing!
Virgin run of my Nytro (wrapped in a truck instead of a sled)
Reviving an old thread since my truck is now operational and it's tune time.
Cannot get in touch with MPI - haven't been able to get a call in for, literally, months (had supercharger issues in January and started trying to reach them then).
Have a call into Ulmer Racing but have yet to hear...
Yeah, that looks like the route I may have to head down. I was trying to avoid disc style and stick with screen.
Probably gonna end up making my own and hoping that AZDOT lets it slide.
Definitely! The tune is way off as is the clutching and a couple sensors aren't reporting (RPM, boost pressure - AiM dash programming issues I'm sure). Check the speedo change when I step on the fun pedal:
Cool, thanks.
Kinda what I thought/expected. Fire's not an issue in snow covered...
As the title says, I'm trying to find out if the OEM Nytro muffler is also a spark arrestor?
I don't see any sort of indication that it is and I MUST have a spark arrestor on my vehicle (live in the desert - look at the grass funny and it goes poof).
If it's not, does anyone know of a slip on...
I appreciate the offer. My box from Dynojet with all the ECU programming and tuning stuff I need showed up late last week. 430cc injectors are on the way too.
If I read correctly you mention being able to enable or disable - how is this done (switch, programmer, ???) and can you do it on the fly?
I’m thinking that I can tune for present conditions, disable and run that mapping if pleased with it. It won’t always be needed.
“Won’t start/idle w/430”...
I actually going to end up with two separate wide band sensors so I think I’ll be able to get things dialed in. One will be for nothing more than a readout on the AiM MXG dash and the other will be with the PC setup.
Being that I’ll be making a custom exhaust, I should be able to eliminate...
I grabbed a set of 430cc injectors from Ulmer and actually found the PC tuner cheaper at DynoJet.
I have the PCV-PVI, an auto tune and a POD on order from them.
I should be set up to get the whole system dialed in. The more I thought about it, having a one off intake setup, custom...
I have a 2012 Nytro engine stuck into an off road vehicle. After a good conversation with one of the guys at MPI I was directed towards Evolution Powersports for some ECU help.
Turns out that Evolution is no longer supporting the Nytro programming.
My current setup is for 7 psi of boost - was...
Thanks Red.
After a little more searching and paying attention to the prefix in the part number, not just the numbers, it would appear that the 8GL is 2011.
The cover I ordered is an 8HF series, which is 2012+. Yamaha changed the cover and magneto from 2011 to 2012.
One of those Captain...
Reviving a slightly old thread.
I don't have a full sled - just a Nytro engine that's going into an off road car. My engine has 8GL01 Y-1 on the cylinder and then 8GL-004911 on the case (guessing production number). I was under the assumption that I have a 2013 powerplant, but when I ordered...
Howdy guys,
While I'm not a sled rider, I've been a sled engine user for many years now. I play in the dirt and desert and prefer a CVT setup over having to tickle the gears. One less thing to worry about...
I've had an 800 twin, 1000 triple, Apex (actually it was an RX1 with R1 fuel...
Not a car like you guys are thinking.
It's called a Stadium Light. Off road racer. Used to race in the stadiums all over the country in a professional series like the Mickey Thompson Grand Prix.
Weighs about 650 lbs, has 14" of travel in the rear, 12" up front. Handles like it's on...
An update (if anyone is interested...)
The upper case half/jugs was sent to Millennium last week. I should get it back next week and according to Millennium it shouldn't be an issue fixing it.
I also followed the given link for the parted out sleds. The "new" 07 engine arrived yesterday...
Oh, wait. I'm a complete and total moron.
They're all three LEFT HAND THREADS!!!
It doesn't mention this until you get to the assembly notes.
I managed to twist off the bolt that holds the primary drive gear in place of and noticed the threads went the other way. Duh!!!
A quick...
Well, the rebuild idea's going down hill quickly.
I've never seen anything quite like this - especially three times.
Both of the counter balancer nuts have decided to strip themselves in place. Spin, spin, no removal.
And, of all things, the bolt that goes into the end of the crank...
