I finally got the right length spring but I cant seem to find the gearing I want, I tried a 19/42 setup and the chain wont fit, will an 18/42 work with the stock chain. Ulmers website says that the 19/42 should fit with a 68 chain ( I think thats stock) but it didn't fit on mine I really dont...

I ordered 18-42 gears so I could keep my stock 68 chain and a spring with a preload of 35 I will try this out and see how it works if I have to I will go back to the stock spring and use shims. Just depends on how she launches, and pulls while climbing.

Are you placing the bolts directly behind the carbides or off to the side ? Could you post a picture I will still run my ice scratchers but I would like to run youe HILL TOPPER MOD for even more help.

I moved the helix around while I was installing it so I will have to try to twist it. I noticed my belt is sitting too low in the secondary clutch I am sure that this is why the belt is slipping so I hope twisting the spring will fix the clutch which will fix the belt which will make me stop...

I will get a hold of the dealer today. I took the sled out Wed. and noticed that I really lose power as I go up in altitude I started out on top (10 to 11k) and as I dropped down about 1000 to 1500 ft the sled felt like it was running way better It was even getting about 1000 more rpms on the tach.

what spring should I try first (more tention or less) thanks.

I havent messed with the primary clutch before, how do I go about removing the rivet and how many do I remove and just because I am trying to learn as much as possible I have to ask what will removing or adding weight to the primary do? Thanks for the help.

My local dealer is snowmobile ignorant which is why I purchased my Apex from a different dealer. They didn't even know about 0-30 oil until I asked them to order some. So I need as much info about this high altitude setup as I can get.

If you contact Avid I believe they do have the parts to relocate the chain case but the new chaincase, if you don't mind the price, is the way to go they have some pics of one of there sleds with the chaincase and the approach angle is awesome definately worth the money. :4STroke:

How would I get my 06 to perfrom like the 07,at high altitudes, I ride in high altitudes upto 11,000 feet.
