Definitely not theft-proof, but I also used the rubber mounts to attach a shovel on my Nytro. These are Inexpensive mounts and I used (1) M6 bolt thru the tunnel to secure them. I will say that I paid $8 for this shovel at TJ Maxx so it wouldn't kill me if someone swipes it, lol But so far...
Who is working on summer mods and PM on their Nytro? Has anyone powder coated their skid rails? If yes, pros and cons?
I am rebuilding my skid and doing a track swap on my stretched 08'.
-Skid shocks to be refreshed
-New powder coat on arms, brackets, etc
-New skid arm bushings
-Polish or...
Your filters look cool! Are you running a Mo-Flow console vent on your dash? It is a great goggle and helmet warmer along with improving flow for the radiator. G.B.
Cannondale is a moderator here on TY does shock work off season. Great guy and does awesome work on the shocks I have sent him, I am almost positive he works on Ohlins too.
Typically, most Yamaha sleds you can raise your bars 2" without extending the cables and hoses. In some cases you may have to reroute some things to make it work.
Yeah, I have been watching this thread and researching Polaris spindles too. The width of the window for the lower ball joint seems to be the issue with certain Polaris spindles. I have read so much about people using Axsys spindles, but it seems the window with is too narrow to use with stock...
Thanks, I will check it out. I have an 08' and a friend has a standard 09'. The biggest thing to be concerned about would be the thickness of the lower A-arm at the ball joint, right? Do you have any pics of your XCSP spindle set up you can add to this thread? Thx
The front end is still pretty tight. I installed oillite bushings in the A arms, all new Yamaha ball joints, and UPBushmans SS spindle kit 4,000 miles ago, and new outer Yamaha tie rod ends last year. Darting is snow and trail condition variable, I am interested in seeing if Snow Trackers work...
Well after 4 plus thousand miles on my 2008' RTX stretched to 144' since I bought and built it, I think its time to try and reduce the darting that I always tell myself is not that bad, lol. I have a totally stock 08' front end and have been running 6.9 Pilots with 6" carbides down the center...
Grizz just sells the kit. With the sled sitting on the garage floor on the skis, I used a 3 plus foot crowbar to straighten my tweaked subframe. Then tore it down to weld in Grizz's kit.
IMO the mid height windshield looks just killer on a Nytro! I had one on my 08' 4 years ago when I first bought it. Went to a large a couple years back for better wind protection and then to an extra tall windshield this year. I have solid white lower flares with my extra tall windshield...
As I continue to fine tune the ride and handling of my Nytro with miles and season after season, I decided that I wanted to try a set of Snowtrackers to tame some of the darting I have time to time. I am running completely stock 08' front end with oil lite A-arm bushings, and a set of Pilot...
