I think the '09 has the same spring as the '08. I don't weigh 250 or 280(190) but I did change the springs. Used the 1500 and put an Ohlins rear shock in. The bottoming out dissappeared and things are good again. At 280 you may want something heavier though.
Planning on replacing the front shocks on my '08 TNytroMTX. Looking at RydeFx 2.0 and wondering if there is any reason not to use these shocks. Looks like they be around $720 for the pair.
I have a perspective from owning both sleds. The XP was new last year and only stayed with me for one trip to the mountains and about 300mi. in the flats. Way too many problems with the XP for my liking and with BRP's reputation for quick fixes, I dumped it for the sled I've always thought I...
Just a thought here. The turbo for high altitude riding still maintans most of its hp. Natural looses about 3%/1000ft. Thats over 30hp on a 155hp natural engine. The big beinifeit for the turbo is at higher altitude if your there.
A thread like this needs some video proof to back it up or you will have those like me who will call BS!!! I own a Nytro and used to own an XP 146. I've had both in the mountains and believe me the results are no where close to yours. Not even in the same league when it comes to climbing. Lots...
If your riding mostly tail I agree with the rtx/fx but if you like to play off the trail the mtx is a great sled. I don't go on the trail if I have a choice so the longer track is always my preference. The short track Phazer with a 1"x14" is not going too far in deeper snow.
I have checked the alignment twice after a couple of short rides and it seems good. Both hyfax right in the middle. No ratcheting so if anything maybe still a bit snug. I could not loosen even if I wanted to as there is no adjustment left for that, only to tighten when the time comes. This must...
Had my dealer install new Challenger Extreme 153" and first trip out to some deeper snow and holy crap is it noisy and vibrating. Way worse than the powdermax 144 and 146 x 2.25". Tech told me it was tight. He was sounding concerned that it may be too tight but said he just got the nylocks into...
Glad you had success with yours, but I was very dissappointed with mine first time out. Similar elevations to you but 5-600rpm short with same set-up as you. 8400-8500rpm. Couldn't touch an 800XP 146,and I mean it wasn't close. Got a different primary spring to try next time and a different...
Is that the only change for a 156" track-9" wheels? What size are the stock wheels? What you get for a price on the 156x 15 x 2.25? Sorry for asking so much but I'm looking to dump the Maverick for something that will climb.
Tracks
When I look on the Camoplast site I see the Camo Extreme @ 153 x2.25 but I don't see that it is fully clipped. Don't you need fully clipped with extrovert drivers? I want to stay at 153 but feel the Maverick is not going to last as the lugs are bending back at under 300mi.
I'm new to the Nitro but after approx. 15,000mi on a Rev. chasis I can tell you that if the Nitro handles like the Rev. and maintains the 4stroke reliability and performance that everyone expects of the Yamaha, I will be a happy camper!!!! I knew I would have to learn how to ride it but that...
I see some have talked about different skis for the MTX. Anyone tried the BRP Pilot 6.9? If so, how difficult to mount on MTX? Did it help with the handling on crusty stuff. Gonig to move stance to widest position from middle to see if that will improve.
Thanks for the advice. I'd planed to run 50 or so mi. without wot. I've never broke in the two strokes the way recomended and never had an engine issues. I'm told the power comes up well as the engine breaks in so I'm willing to be patient as long as the rest of the sled works!!!
If any others...
Did the deal today, pick-up on Wed. Now tell me a good break-in policy. Planning to do some screening and waiting for a higher windshield. Other suggestions are welcome.
Thanx
