i have the same problem with one of my attaks. it has over 30 000 km, the other one has 17 000 km.
the one with higher mileage is harder on fuel, burns no oil, runs strong, but stalls when coming to a stop. i checked the throtlle position sensor and it is to spec. if you can figure out your...
i must have a strong one too. 123 mph last week on speedo last week with aggressive snowtrackers. 2 years and 5000 miles on snowtrackers of ashphalt grinding, rock slaming , rail road track banging and still going strong.
point and shoot handling, ZERO darting, one hand riding at high speed...

i had the exact same problem as you. if you want to run the sled you MUST diconnect the speed sensor. just follow the wiring from the sensor and youll find the plug in close to the tank area. unplug and ride. it will give you codes but you can ride without issue. your sled will...
i had the deuce carbides, great improvement over stock. Then i made the switch to snowtrackers. I often look at this site for improvements to make on my yammie. I can't for the life of me, understand why the snowtrackers isn't listed as a "MUST BUY" for all apex on this site. Its not an...
I'm getting close to the 10 000 miles and figured it was a good time to replace now, since so many on this site has broken driveshaft at this amount of miles. I"m looking at a replacement and its a different code and more expensive from a 2006 driveshaft versus a 2010. Is the 2010 different and...
my titanium y-pipes were both cracked at the 4000 miles, i replaced them with steel bender racing pipes at 399 us dollars. it was the cheapest alternative at that time . dealer wanted 700 cdn (each) for the titanium ones. nothing has changed on the donut wear. Around the 3000 miles area is when...
keep dreaming woolyviper. i have modified my clamps for more pressure and its the same nonsense. third set of donuts at 7000 miles, 2 y pipes and one flex pipe.
my cobra is studded. i reused the same studs that was on my stock ripsaw. Can't remember the exact lenght. i only use 2 studs per row in the center. comes to 108 on the 136 " track. no rubbing yet with 1000 miles so far
I don't like too many studs. I have run 4 studs per row on my old srx...
i wouldn't even look at an 06 nytro if i were you. a friend of mine went from a rev 800 to an 06 nytro and completly hated the thing. if i were you id ride youre 01 yami and wait till end of march for an 09 xtx nytro. there's always "steal of a deal" at the end of winter.
I installed my yamaheater last saturday. Its one of the easiest instals i have done so far. two tie downs, one bolt for the ground, three plug in to connect and voila. In three years my sleds handwarmer has been left at wide open and i never felt any heat. I should have turned them off in those...
i couldnt get a 136 inch predator in december. my ripsaw was toast and that is the track that i wanted but i was told that they stopped making them in the 136 and now only offer them in 121. i got the cobra instead.
just ordered one . Im like a dinosaur with on-line banking. So i just ordered thru port yamaha. should get it in two weeks. Theres a pile of yammie riders around here fed up with cold hands. You might have a lot of new customers next month.
Forget both and buy snowtrackers. I had the deuce bars, big improvent over stock. Then i put snowtrackers and honestly i cant even find the right words to discribe the improvements. How about " smart car vs lamborghini ".
ZERO push in the corners . Darting what the hell does that mean ...
I have owned quite a few yamahas in excess of two decades. from srv, vmax , phazers, exciters, sx, srx and this sled is the most ive spent on repairs. And to top it all off ive never had such cold hands. But one long pull on the river with the fun flipper to the bar and all is forgiven. LOL
i installed my cobra track yesturday. I was also having a hard time with the chaincase cover . I disconnected the reverse tie rods, somehow it wasn't allowing me to pull the tabs high enough. Maybe it wasn't necessary or maybe i was just not trying enough, but i got the job done.
i wanted a 1.25 " carve track for my attak but the dealer said it was discontinued. WTF. I had to settle for a cobra track, it s still in the box i havent put it on yet. i hated the rip saw when riding off trail. I just noticed that artic cat stopped putting the cobra in there turbos this year...
