Yeah, off season revalving is the first thing on the list if Hygear will work on the FX shocks. Otherwise I will be trying to trade/buy the RTX shocks and have them tweaked a bit.
Are any of you guys running different coupling blocks? I had a tech tell me than they have their FX set up with...
I have a standard FX as well. I should have bought the RTX for the type of riding I do. I will swap with you as well if Reaper doesn't.
The FX isn't better but rather a bit softer in the skid, more adjustable in the front(I think), a little lower on the steering height(no riser slightly...
Has anyone had this happen recently on newer models? I just had the starter stick on an 2008 Nytro. Burned up the starter, drained battery and left me stranded. Error code 46 and 12 which is crankshaft position sensor. I don't know how that ties in to this thought but thats what shutdown and...
Nytro died this weekened on the trail. Error codes 46 and 12. Yamaha says its a blown starter caused by a faulty starter relay trying to continuously run the starter. I am guessing this caused the #12 fault which is crankshaft position indicator.
They are replacing the starter and relay under...
Agreed. When I spoke with the first tech at the dealership he said that is a wear item. The service manager contacted Yamaha and they said no way is that a wear item and to bring in the sled to replace under warrenty. They said also that a fix is coming but was not ready. Also did not mention...
Yes and No. It wasn't meant specifically for you or negative really but rather i think there are a couple of issues on the front ends. Some people are tweaking these things from an impact and some seem to be having issues after slop develops in the front end after logging some miles. I had a...
The front ends on these things are noodles. Ignore people that have zero miles on the fronts and have hit a rock. The bushings all around are wearing out super early under normal to somewhat aggresive riding. There is tons of slop after minimal riding(300 plus).
I for one don't want to replace a bad part with a replacement bad part. That is why I am looking for info on an upgraded alternative. Mine is going to the dealer tomorrow but I don't see much of a point replacing the ball joints with like parts that will be toast in 200miles.
Do you have any info on the regreasable lower ball joints? I am looking for a part number, manufacturer, anything really. Did the dealer provide these?
Definately check the lower A arms. I thought I had bent the subframe as well because I could not see any visible cracks or creases in the A arm. I ended up buying a new A arm and sure enough it was the culprit. I just wish there was a way to make the ball joints on the A Arm(lower) last longer...
Its funny you posted this today. I did a 110mile run today and was ready to snap from the squeeking. I think I still hear it. My ball joints are completely shot. One side has 830miles the other side about 250 miles. I replaced an A arm.
Is there any way to make these ball joints last any...
You are right Lucky_7, the base Nytro doesn't have a riser at all. I checked the catalog and the RTX does, how about that. Adding this to the list of reasons I should have bought the RTX and ditched the Floats.
I better double check cables etc but pivot riser block does look like the way to go...
I just replaced my right lower A arm after a collision with a stump. 100% my fault and I would expect the A arm to bend which it did. The only concern I have is the lower ball joint looked completely blown out. I had a ton of vertical slop. I figured this was because of the impact but I checked...
bagadonitz, Mine were that way from the dealer as well. I have been scratching my head reading the posts on darting and flipping the rubbers. I picked up mine about a month ago so I don't know how the dealer knew to turn them. They do look like they want to go in with the thick part of the...
