I HAVE A 08 RTX. THINKING ABOUT TRADING FOR A 09 FX . WHATS EVERYONE THINK OF THE DIFF. IN THE RIDE... I JUST CANT TAKE THE HARSHNESS OF THIS THING ANY MORE, NOT TO MENTION THE DARTING. WAS THE FX THAT MUCH BETTER THAN THE RTX FOR 08? I REALLY HAVENT HEARD TO MANY PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT ABOUT THE RIDE. THANKS FOR THE INPUT>>>>>> O BY THE WAY DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THEY FIXED THE PROBLEMS YET ???????? :o|

I have an Standard FX and will swap you shocks if you like, does that answer your question.

Really depends on riding style.

I have a standard FX as well. I should have bought the RTX for the type of riding I do. I will swap with you as well if Reaper doesn't.
The FX isn't better but rather a bit softer in the skid, more adjustable in the front(I think), a little lower on the steering height(no riser slightly different column), smaller carbides and bars on ski's.
I have changed everything over on mine to make it like the RTX except rear shocks. It all depends on riding style.

Reaper and Chiefy are correct. I rode My buddies FX std. and just zipping around the parking lot and a short mile ride down the trail jumping over some banks I thought his rear suspension was too soft for my riding style and what I like.

If your a heavier aggressive rider get the rtx. Dibs on the shocks if the previous 2 offers fall thru! Actually the fx skid is good for smooth trails & medium moguls. Even the biggies are fine if your standing. The unseen g-outs hurt like hell!!!

Yeah, off season revalving is the first thing on the list if Hygear will work on the FX shocks. Otherwise I will be trying to trade/buy the RTX shocks and have them tweaked a bit.
Are any of you guys running different coupling blocks? I had a tech tell me than they have their FX set up with very light center spring preload and Ulmer coupling blocks. He said the light spring preload helps on small bump and the blocks help on bottom out.

i weigh 215 and i bought a sdt fx cuz i dont like air shocks, plus i figured id just have my sled revalved if i didnt like it, well it was pretty dam soft, i had hygear revalve the rear and he put a resivoir on the front skid shock with adjustable compression, i cant say enough about this mod it was like night and day, the thing works good i didnt have the front done because i was just complaining about the rear and it made a huge difference, so much so that ill have the front done for next season, ive done that, simmons skis pulled the front limeter strap up one hole and i love the sled
