I did the same as you DelgatyXTX, and that is about the same torque as stock tank. Definitely has to be better than hand tight due to the slotted holes for adjusting. The plastic in the holes are pretty thick in the meantime.
Looking for opinions on torque settings for mounting trailtank to stud mounts. Assume it would be same as nytro stock tank at 7.2 ft lbs. The nuts will work their way somewhat into the plastic but just concerned about not cracking the plastic. Any idea?
I have a 2012 xtx and have no darting issue at all. Previous yamy's that I owned were darting on a regular basis. Really pleased with my nytro. Only downside for me is the small fuel tank, but I do a lot of back country so I may go with a trailtank. As gregdec1 said they are an awesome sled.
Looking for opinions from anybody with a trailtank on the nytro. How does it look? Is it hard to install? Does it interfer with anything such as the fan, etc. Trying to decide whether to purchase one or if it's just as well to just have fuel caddies. Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks. Figured that was the only way, just have to be gentle. Stupid setup though as you will certainly break a few. Only broke 1 out of 9....getting better at it... LOL
May be a stupid question but is there an easy way to remove those plastic quick fasteners on the lower side covers and center plate? Tried popping them with a screwdriver but already cracked one. Wouldn't think you have to install new ones everytime you remove them. They have to be removed from...
Anybody install a dc outlet on the nytro xtx? Is there an easy way to find the connector without taking the nytro apart? You would think the connector would be near where the outlet mounts, but I don't see it. Maybe I need new glasses...
Considering a 2012 nytro xtx but having a problem with the small fuel tank. Thought yamaha would have a bigger tank for 2012 but obviously not. Anyone have a trail tank or tour buddy installed? Which is better, if any? Also, what is the average distance on a tank of gas? Any feedback would be...
Vectorltx2012. Rust check spray is a aerosol spray of antirust liquid which repels water/ice. It's a Canadian product which I'm not sure if it's available in the states. I would think so, but if not you can always jump on your sled and cross over to Manitoba to pick some up. That would be an...
I sure like the specs on the vector ltx. A lot of doo guys are trying to convince me to go with the renegade, but I'm a diehard yamy and want to stay with the 4 stroke.
Considering a new 2012 vector ltx and wondered how the ltx handles in deep snow. Have a venture lite with the 144 inch track but no good in deep powder. Yamaha class the vector ltx as a cross country trail, does this include deep powder riding?
