May be a stupid question but is there an easy way to remove those plastic quick fasteners on the lower side covers and center plate? Tried popping them with a screwdriver but already cracked one. Wouldn't think you have to install new ones everytime you remove them. They have to be removed from center plate to change the oil. Thought I'd ask b4 I split any more.

The ones on the belly pan always seem to be very brittle, I broke a few of them, what I found works best is stick your flat head screwdriver in one side, pry up and little then pry on the other side of the fastener, everytime I pried on just one side they would seem to bust in half, there not very strong at all.

Pop the middle up first by inserting a small screw driver and twisting.

Thanks. Figured that was the only way, just have to be gentle. Stupid setup though as you will certainly break a few. Only broke 1 out of 9....getting better at it... LOL

Instead of going to your local shop and paying some ridiculous amount for a few, try the link above.

When it's cold out I like to hit them for just a second or two with a hand held propane torch seems to warm/soften them up a little bit, but any way you do it it's usually a PITA.

theres a tool for them.
my snap-on door panel removal tool set has a baby fork tool that removes them great.
looks like a mini putty knife with a v-groove cut in it. little bend to it to get under there.

You have to get both sides raised at the same time. 2 small flat heads are the best. (I use 2 small ones for chainsaw carb adjustment)
Prob 3.5 inches long.

here's some removal tools- http://www.bizrate.com/automotive-repai ... n-removal/
Yes they fit! I bought some back in November, and at $9 bucks I might order another box.
They are however not an exact copy if that matters to you. Plastic is smooth. And the top pin part is round with overahang all the way around the pin, not squared like stock ones, which I think makes it easier to take out than the Yamaha ones.

I gotto say this is the only thing Polaris does well. They give you the tool to take them out in your tool kit for the RZR. I use them all the time on my sled

Fits like a glove, and like said in a previous post, they have a little edge on each side, so removing them is super easy compared to the OEM fasteners.
