I read in the tech section about changing the jackshaft bearing. They show the tapered locking collar threaded with a lock / jam nut. My sled only has a tapered collar without the threaded part or nut like shown. Should my collar be changed to this newer style, or left alone? Thanks Ron...

Has anyone tried the dayco ultimax 3 #138-4432-U3 drive belt substution with the primary sheaves off a VK540 (viking). Wondering if they work well together, or work against each other. Thanks Ron.

Need to change the lower A arm on my sled. The original part # is 8FA-23580-00-00. The replacement # is 8FG 23580-00-00. The dealer can't tell me what the specific difference (if any) is. Any ideas? Any info at this point would greatly help. Thanks Ron.

So i guess you really mean to just replace the one side with stock components. The improvments would be marginal at best?

Riding home yesterday, hit something covered in the snow. Bent upper and lower control arms, also bent the spindle. OK i can live with fact that i bent this stuff. Now the real question is replacement. I thought some of the newer yamaha front ends had better front end geometry. Witch model...
