Has anyone tried the dayco ultimax 3 #138-4432-U3 drive belt substution with the primary sheaves off a VK540 (viking). Wondering if they work well together, or work against each other. Thanks Ron.

the dayco belt is a softer belt and will drop the top rpm compared to stock. the viking sheave i believe was cut to allow more shift out, and i think had a slightly different angle. if so, the belt will wear in to match. i dont see a problem, but the life of the dayco is limited from my testing.

The Vk sheave as a 13 degree angle, other yammis clutch have 15 degree angle with result in more contact of the belt, less slip.don't change your sheave, overdrive wont help you.belt grip is more important. You will see very little performance for the Dayco belt, better ET ( less than half second gain ) but no gain in top end.

My primary sheaves are starting to crack, and will need replacing . I heard this might help.
