i guess i dont understand the logic of bending #*$&@ back into place with a pry bar on a new machine.i just dont believe its something that you should have to keep doing.i have the mechanical aptitude to perform such operations but i feel this is something the yamaha engineers should have figured...
you shouldnt have to bend subframes/a-arms back in place on a new sled plus the more times you bend it the weaker it will be.I have personally seen the 09 subframe tweak/couple sets of a-arm bushings/lower ball joints and a spindle all need replacement. The front ends of these machines are not...
Where do you guys strap the sledge hammer?pretty silly IMO.also we have had 3 subframe issues in our group(2last year)and they all occured on trail riding the same trails as the other sleds in the group.
like i said i'm not bashing the sled-i owned one.they have made great improvements in ride control since last year, but they still havent fixed some issues like the subframes/handwarmers.some people may never bend theirs.
yeah-its to bad yamaha hasnt figured out how to address this problem.Yamaha has definately made improvements from last year in the handling/darting department. This guy has spent over $20,000 on two nytros in the last two years-its too bad he has to go through this after yamaha said they fixed...
A guy i ride with has a 2009 nytrortx se and just bent the whole front end.Needed new a-arm/spindle/ball joints and a subframe.replaced by yamaha.normal trail riding with several other sleds(apex/dragon/800r/f10).didnt hit anything any of the other sleds didnt-just moguls. This guy had a nytro...
I agree, they do handle better.I cant relieve the ski pressure on this sled enough to keep the more aggressive razors on.I mostly rid on groomed and hardpacked trails and this is where the sled darts with the razors.I've tried toe out-parralel and shims under the rear of the ski rubber and...
I just recently took my c&a razors off and put stockers back on.The razors were very hard to steer and darted on hardpacked trails.I have put about 1000 miles on stocks and 1000 miles on razors with 6" shapers and 4" carbides also.I believe the razors are to aggressive for this sled-for me...
Thanks for the replies.I just put 1/4" shims on the back of the rubber and the skis are sitting flat when I lift the sled.I also put woodys 4" carbides instead of the shaper bars, unfortunetely i dont have time to try the setup before my trip.I'm hesitant to go back to the stock setting on the...
I figured that they would steer harder when i bought them-i was just wondering if anyone with these skis has done anything to lessen the steering effort. My front limiter strap is pulled up 1 hole from longest-rear strap 2 holes from longest-front skid shock preload about 1" of threads left on...
I just flipped the rubber around and the ski is just about level when i jack the front end up-has anyone tried shimming the rubber on the razors?I looked at the rubbers on the stock skis and they are alot softer than the c&a rubber-and they are also captured in the stock ski-not sure if they...
yeah, i noticed that they were loose also. The skis work good in powder but heavy steering on hardpack.I should mention that i also have 6" shaper bars-perhaps this combo is too aggressive.
I have a standard fx nytro with c&a razors.I installed the rubber bumper that came with the kit with the talller part of the rubber towards the front of the sled as shown in the directions.I noticed that the front of the skis are tipped down when the sled is lifted-has anyone turned these...
