I have reached a point where I think it is time to move on from my '03 RX-1. It has an M-10 in it with some mild clutching and it has been a great sled. I found a '06 Apex RTX with 300 miles for sale and i am considering buying it. Any ideas what a fair price would be?
I have gathered there...
Not too sure what causes this. I have an '03 and last season I couldn't seem to get more than a few hundred miles on one. This year I bought some more belts and I got about 1400 miles on one and so far 450 on the next one. I think the one with 1400 miles on it failed due to the issue with the...
Sorry you had to pay for yours ReX and your other bad luck. That was basically what mine looked like except all three of my buttons were wasted and the casting was broke in 2 of 3 positions. Before this season I was beginning to think the extended warranty was a waste of $$. But this year I got...
I just got back from a trip. At the end of the first day the outer layer of the belt came off at high speed. I was only a few miles from base camp and it was dark so I figured I would slow it down and try to limp back without changing the belt until the morning. Well a short distance later the...
I have an '03 with 9,000 miles on it and my extended warranty is going to expire in September. My clutch/gear reduction is somewhat noisy. I was wondering if there is any updates to correct this or has anyone had their's warranteed?
Thanks.
If you want to do wheelies buy the green kind of sled. I've had an M-10 in my '03 after the first season and now have 8300 miles on the sled. If any sled is set up right you should not get any wheelies unless you are running something crazy like the one guy putting 380 hp in an rx-1. It's hard...
Thanks NY_Warrior. I ordered the kits from Pioneer Performance. I priced out the stock bushings and it was going to be about $140 from what I could tell by doing it online. Pioneer's kit was 59 for the control arm bushing kit and 22 for the spindles. So you are looking at half the price for...
Has anyone noticed their front suspension joints getting sloppy? I have 8300 miles on mine and I am noticing some movement in the joints. Has anyone rebuilt theirs? What all did you have to replace? Just the bushings? Are they removable?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Just to let you guys know they replaced all 4 of my coils. They checked the resistance and they were out of spec and arcing as well. They were covered under my Y.E.S. Sled is running much better and also getting better fuel mileage. So my advice to everyone with an '03 is to check them out and...
Look in the classifieds. I am sure somoen has one laying around somewhere with as many sleds as there are being parted out.
Someone at the dealer probably broke it off. The dealerships employees are so careless at least in my area. I hate to take my sled in.
Just to let anyone who is following this thread I took the boots off my sled this evening and started it. With the lights on in the garage it was no issue to see that all 4 were arcing to the cyclinder head. I have 7,200 miles on my sled. I don't know if this failure is due to time or mileage or...
So do they replace them with the exact same coils or do they have an updated one. Do they only fix one of yours at a time or have they replaced all four.
So I called Yamaha today and they say they are not aware of any such issue and that I will have to take the sled to the dealership and let them look at it. How did you guys get yours replaced?
I will give them a call. Hopefully they won't give me any hassle. They shouldn't especially since I have an extended warranty.
Thanks for the info Lippy.
I was reading in the classified that some were looking for new coils and a warranty topic came up. I have an '03 RX-1 with 7200 miles on it. When I changed my plugs this year it seemed like the coils did not go onto the plugs as firm as they should and the threads on the plugs were worn down in...
Formula
Yes you are right. My boat is a '90 Formula 292 sr-1. Twin 454's that are stock. Boat runs about 70 mph. That pic is from when I first got the boat and was launching at the South River Road launch. I am now at Anchor Bay Marina in a rack. Do you have a boat out there?
I installed a new bearing and upgraded to the 04 collar. I tigthened the nut on the upper gear and assembled the chaincase. I then installed the bearing and secondary and then locked down the collar. I installed all the original washers adn spacers. Any suggestions?
