Your battery may be about dead. When you have a dead cell in your battery the speedo gauge will go zero to 100 then drop to zero intermittently.

install ski doo 135mm wheels & new hyfax, completely solves the problem, skidoo wheels are 5mm larger, I replaced all 6 of the 130 mm wheels, with 135 mm ski doo wheels. piss poor design by yamaha, make sure to install new hyfax for max thickness to make up for larger wheels,

install 135mm ski doo wheels on the two in front, both sides 4 total, (yamaha wheels are 130mm) install new hyfax, kimplex type. They are a little thicker that OEM, problem solved, I have 2 seasons on the same hyfax, over 14000 miles on sled total, this is the trick. no my rails didn't break...
