Hey all.My 02 Grizzly 660 temp light on the digital speedo assy doesnt come on at all. I would like to test it before a week long run at the end of the month, but It doesn't come on.I pulled the dash assy off the machine and it seems to be a sealed unit, with no user replaceable bulb.Does anyone know if this is right ? I have the manual, thanks to Gunny, but forgot it at work today.I don't remember seeing this in there today though.Any ideas on what I can do ? I would hate to think the dash would need replacement for a little bulb, if thats the problem. Is there any way to get this light to light up w\o overheating it to check the bulb? The wheeler runs great, so I am not worried about the temp too much, but it sure is a nice safety feature!Any input is appreciated! Mike

Usually when you start the bike the dash lights will come on as a test. Or if you simply turn the key to "ON" and leave it.

I figure it should cycle on and off when you turn on the key, when the dash is "booting up".I find it hard to believe that the only time you can get the bulb to light up is by overheating it.Thats why the dash in a car lights up all the warnings when you turn the key on, to do a bulb check.

Hmm I have never seen my light on until I had it overheat with a plugged radiator.

660 grizz overheats (temp light on) but the cooling fan cycles on and off. I thought it should stay on steady as long as the temp light is on. Any thoughts?

I thought when mine did over heat, the fan stayed on until it was no longer in the over heat range.... it may have a bad sensor.

Thanks for the info.Thought it might be the sensor. I'll have to take it out and check it. Has anyone had trouble with or replaced the thermostat?

Well, heres a bit of info regarding my original post here.My dad just bought an 06 Grizzly 660 this past weekend.I turned on the key and his temp light doesn't come on as a test, nor does it work when I tap the starter button to try to get it to happen.I guess the only way to find out if the light actually works is to overheat it.Obviously I don't want that to happen.I was just curious, now I am not too worried about it.I have no reason to think it's running hot, seems to run normal, after all it's a 660cc, it's going to produce some heat.I guess I will just assume the light will work if needed. HOW TO check your temp gauge!!
IF you want to test your temp warning light
-turn main switch on and engine stop to the circle arrow (i think its off)
-push start switch while transmisson in neutral
-If light comes on for a sec or two , then your all good!
