Had to sit out most of last season due to knee surgery but i'm back...

took the RX1 out in some deep bottomless snow last weekend and it bogs real bad when the vents get covered, i've installed a fan which seems to help sometimes... have others had this issue?

Also not hitting the 10,200 rpms as i remember it was running strong last season but i didn't really get it out. any thoughts, i'll need to find my old posts in order to check my clutching numbers. I'd read about one guy adjusting the valves and it gave him back about 20 hp? i've got about 5000 miles on the sled.

check your exhast system and make sure that the glass pack muffler hasn't colapsed inside. In the bottomless powder the exhast can become restricted from a build up of snow also.

I'm starting to think it's something with the under tunnel exhaust? had the sled in the garage went thru the carbs and installed a larger fan.

the PO drilled numerous holes in the air box i'm assuming to increase airflow and the tape i'd used to seal them had come off. So i went ahead and resealed with tape and silicon. as i remeber the carbs on the rx1 are a vacuum typ and require a specific amount of air and the additional holes may have been part of my problem??

anyway i took it out yesterday and it ran great in about 12-18" of new snow, definitely enough to clog the hood vents, but she just purred! i should mention i'm generally out to ski and ride 2 folks and a trailer with gear. so the sled is working pretty hard and sits a little lower in the snow?
