03 RX1 IDLE PROBLEM PLEASE HELP

OK, I HAVE NOW CLEANED MY CARBS 3 TIMES AND I REPLACED MY BADLY ARCHING COILS AND SYNCED MY CARBS. THIS THING HAS A MIND OF ITS OWN. IT WILL NOT IDLE PROPERLY. WHEN I FIRST START IT UP WHEN COLD IT WILL START FINE WITH THE CHOKE AND I HAVE TO INSTANTLY SHUT THE CHOKE OFF OR IT WILL DIE, SO WHEN I SHUT THE CHOKE OFF IT WILL NOT IDLE ON ITS OWN EITHER SO I HOLD THE THE THROTTLE TO KEEP IT RUNNING, THEN WHEN IT GETS WARMED UP IT IDLES REALLY LOW, SO I TRY TO TURN THE IDLE UP SET THE IDLE AT ABOUT 1450 AND AND IT WILL DO SO, BUT WHEN I BLIP THE THROTTLE IT WILL THEN IDLE UP OVER 2000 AND JUST STAY THERE. EVEN IF I KEEP BLIPPING THE THROTTLE IT WILL NOT IDLE DOWN. I HAVE BEEN FIGHTING THIS CONCERN SINCE I BOUGHT THIS THING IN THE SPRING. HAS ANY ONE OF YOU GUYS HAD THIS HAPPEN. IT KIND OF ACTS LIKE MY 02 VIPER DID IF THE IDLE WAS SET TO HIGH. I ALSO CHECKED FOR INTAKE LEAKS AND ALL IS GOOD THERE. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRIECIATED. THANKS SCOTT :o| :o| :o|
 

This just happened to me on my RX1. It would start, but idle rpm was way too low, so I adjusted the idle speed up to 1450 and it would idle, but still sounded rough. Then, like you, when I bleep the throttle the rpms would shoot way up over 4000 and I would have to hit the kill switch to avoid taking out the garage door. I went through several cycles of this, adjusting the idle with the same results. Decided to pull the carbs, but checked the plugs first. One of the plug boots is more worn than the others and does not seat snugly, so I pulled that plug...it was fouled...replaced it and it ran like new.

Change your plugs and clean the contacts in the boots. You are running on 3 cylinders until you bleep the throttle, then 4th is kicking in. ;)!

make shure that the pilot jets age clean. on some ive had to clean then several times before i got them clean as they build lots of vanish on the inside walls and just when you think that there clean another chunk breaks away and plugs the jet, mine came pluged from the factory. another sorce of problem is to make shure that the float bowel,s are sealed properly. on a few ive had to reindex the carb rack becasue after balenceing i took the slides out and tied them open and found that at wide open two were not even at 1/2 open but the balence was bang on. so i had to split the carb rack and manualy reindex untill i could get them to all got full open then balence them. roye this is not a job for the week of heart or mind
