I am in need for the front shock on the rear susspension on my 03 rx1. The local yamaha dealer wants $375 for one. I am in no position to pay this much because I have put way to much cash into other parts for this skid. I can't find an aftermarket shock for the 03 but I can for the 04 for $124. The measurement are the same but I am not sure if the spring will fit. Does anyone know if it will fit

I'm under the impression that the 03/04 suspensions are the same. Also, check kijij Edmonton, there is a guy parting out an RX1 in Sask, just posted it today.

A revalved 02 viper should also work.

rx1 skid
I want to thank Stillsmokey for giving me the tip on kijiji. I found a complete 03 rx1 151 mountain skid in excelent condition with shocks for $100. The front shock is the same as mine. My buddy is going to pick it up this weekend.
Now the question is, do I wat to put this skid in my sled in the future(next year). I have a 136 now, it has a tunnel extension from 121 to 136 already, will I have get a different tunnel extensionto do this. How much longer will the skid actualy be than the 136 is now, and will it bolt right in. This is for future consideration. I am just going to use the parts I need for now.

you will need the longer tunnel extension forsure. The front shock was rebuildable I think. I have got one hanging on the wall if ya want a sweet deal on it. sounds like a fun build. Honk

Yeah you are right the front shock looks like it could be rebuilt but the piston rod is bent. I don't know if it could be replaced. If this doesn't work out I will let you know.
Thanks
