I took the skid apart to change bearings. The 2 large upper wheels are attached by a shaft (seen in the picture). There is a center sleeve (next to the word "everything" in the pic. I didn't notice this when I disassembled due to so much grease. My question is does this sleeve have to be in the exact center of the shaft (that goes into the tube)? What does this sleeve do, is it supposed to be right on top of the zurk fitting to distribute grease to both sides??????
Two possibilities: one, that 'sleeve' is an old plastic bearing that got pushed in on the shaft after it sepparated from the outer lip (you see this lip on the new bearings in the pic). Two, that is one of the white sleeves that sit on the outside of the wheels on that shaft and you put it on the inside by mistake. Otherwise there is only the two bearings on either end of the shaft.
