Was out on a poker runthis weekend..went about 3 1/2 hours on a rail trail, running some roads....turned onto a old road and was going slow for about 1 mile and noticed my temp light had come on...checked fluid and it was fine, rad did not look plugged ( we had gone in zero mud)....let fan run and within a minute light was off....started again and within 10 mitnues it came on for a short time then off..did this twice but then stayed off for about 2 hours...1 mile from the truck it came on and stayed on until I got to the truck....when I turned it off it was really hot....it was a rainy day and cool.......I was thinking thermostat but another guy says although the rad might look clean that is usually what it is....any suggestions ???Diceman

Ditto on the plugged rad, they may look clean but those tight little fins really hold the dirt and the machine will show the symptoms described.
