I have an 04 RX1. I took it to the shop for an electrical issue - they fixed that. In the mean time they took a look around and found that it had a clutch issue.
The Secondary Fixed Sheave has one the shoes broken off. I know you can replace just one - however, it appears that it ripped out of the sheave so the entire part needs to be replaced.
Dealer said about $400. Does that sound about right? I have never used this dealer before but needed the electrical issue fixed asap.
I did notice a vibration on my last trip so i do believe there is an issue and he will show where it is broken if I come in there. It is no doubt broken - just the cost to replace is what i am questioning. I have no idea what this should cost.

You should be able to buy a good used RX-1 secondary for $100-150. Actually; anything from a 97 & up will work with your helix & spring. I have 2 of em lieing around but they don,t have helix,s or springs but you don,t need those.
I have a used secondary available.

My issue is i don' have to much time here and i don't have the know how to complete the task at hand.
My dad has all the knowledge and tools but he is 4 hours away and it needs to be running this weekend.
i was more looking to see if the price was right.

Base on what Turk said used being 100 - 150 these being new parts $400 from Yamaha is probably close. See if he has a used one he would sell ya otherwise based on your situation if you want to play your gonna have to pay : (

Ulmer racing re-built my primary and secondary and it was around $400 for both, so $400 for one is a little high but they are not bending you over. They are probably making $100-150 on the deal.

Lots of secondaries
Had the same problem - got one from the Classified section for $75 delivered. Replaced in about 30 mins., not a big deal at all. Would be $50 to change at the dealer at the most.
