my 04 rx1 has developed a problem, it has done it 3 times now when it sits say like overnight or for 3-4 hours it acts like it's dead as a door knob at the key...throw a charger on a 10 amp charge for 30 seconds and it takes right off...when it takes off after putting the charger on it spins motor super fast even without the charger on, then after it's been started its fine it won't do it again until it sits...anyone have any advice as to where to look and what? Am going to get a new battery even though it's not turning over sluggish at all but I'm guessing it's few years old thanks for any help

It could be the starter sticking...and the brushes are warn enough it wont turn it over unless there is a pile of current. Does the sled have a pile of miles?

This is a tough one.. hate electrical issues. When this happens try jumping the relay by the better with a screw driver...I have seen those get moisture in them.

Ya I'm afraid it's wiring also...when I put charger on it's hooked to what I'd call those tender cables that hang out under the air box would that send more juice to a relay or solenoid of some sort? Leaving Saturday morning for first trip north bad timing for it to be giving me fits

Yes are connected to that area.... its worth a try. It acts just like the battery is dead. Turn the key to on, then take a screw driver and see if you can jump that relay.

Just one of the contacts had corrosion and it was pretty nasty, both sides, on the key side and the wiring harness side same contact, unsure of wiring diagram but if clip to release the plug was on top and you would unplug the connection it would be top right contact looking into plug on wiring harness, top left on the key switch, I believe that's the correct one, i cleaned contacts inside the connections as good as I could plugged together started fine say there and wiggled plug wires for atleast 5 minutes never hiccuped once, checked rest of wiring harness all around that area all looked perfect no rubs anywere, hope that was my problem. Frustrating to finally get snow and then it don't run!

Sounds like your loosing ground, try running an extra ground from the sylenoid to the chassis (this fixed mine).
