Is it possible to change the left side (Speedo gear side) Drive shaft bearing without taking the chaincase all apart? I have it thawing out right now. I'm pretty sure I have to tear the chaincase all apart but didn't take a look under there yet. Thanks for the replies.

yes. just did a buddys 03 mountain yesterday. remove the 2 set screws from the bearing coller inside tunnel. remove speedo sensor and outside bracket. bearing can be pried out from inside tunnel. when installing new bearing be sure the set screws are backed out to allow it to slide easily on to shaft.

Just loosen the track up b4 replacing the bearing.
