05 Battery Number

Does anyone have a 2005 RX-1 Non reverse that could supply the part number for the battery (like YTX14????) Since the picture in snowtech does not match the heavier battery number, I doubt that the other number is right either.

I wonder if the posts are the same as the original YTX-20L-BS that came in my ER? You actually saw the battery in a RX-1, not a magazine right? (I am just asking, not bickering) My owners manual says 0-30 oil, I wonder if they went thinner on the oil because of the smaller battery?

Doug, I have an extra smaller Power Sonic battery that is even lighter than the factor Yamaha one if you're interested. I'll check with some contacts on the reason for the different engine oil. Shoot me an email.

All RX-1's still take 5W-30 & the Vector models take 0W-30. The number for the light weight battery is YTX16-BS.

Owners manual says 0-W30 and there is nothing under the hood. I am not going to worry a lot about the oil until tech school. Since Yamaha never seems to put the same thing in the sleds as they give the magazines, I am going to look at a sled at Haydays on the battery. I am not going to fire it up for awhile anyway. I am not looking for the tiny battery for racing, just trying to get the same one as the RX without reverse. I guess we need a bigger battery for the reverse horn!
