I am having clutch problems with my 05 Grizzly. The belt got wet, I pulled the plug and drained all the water. Everything seemed fine driving slowly on the trail. When I got out on the road, my grizz would not shift out properly and would only do 35Km/H without over reving the engine. I suspect that the secondary clutch is having some problems.
Any thoughts before I take it apart?

You might have dirt and mud in your clutch as well? All the water could have displaced the clutch grease too? Good luck...Irv

I got lucky on one and just had to clean all the gunk out when I pulled the cover.
(Not an easy task on a hung-over Saturday morning in a condo parking lot.)

I took it for a spin without the cover in spite of all my safety training and it worked fine so I just put it all back together, gave it back to the wife and told her it was good.

I then sunk the second one, had the same issue, put it on the trailer and haven't looked at it since.

I "plan" to take both machines down and do "proper" maintenance before it gets too cold, the snow flies and I get all distracted with my other toy.

Maybe we can fire up the snorkle thread again.

Fixed

The primary clutch was packed full of mud. I had to strip it down, clean everything and put it back together. Works perfect now.
Cost: $32.00 for the proper Yamaha ultramatic clutch grease. :D
