thats the oil pump drive chain i think, it goes down into the crank case
On the monoshock design, was there any way to control ski pressure other than the weight transfer adjustment. The problem I had with the Expert X was that if you were not accelerating through a turn, there was way too much ski pressure.

Judging by the pictures, its got adjustable limiters, which would allow you to control ski pressure (let out to reduce).
That my work if the monoshock preload is enough to take weight off the front skis. With the expert, lengthing the front straps just increased the ski lift under hard acceleration.

I bet you could drop a spacer in the bottom of the control rod tube to control extension coupling to reduce ski pressure. Would work the same as using a thicker lower spacer on the old skid.

Redrx1, Boivin told me not to use the straps to limit lift (no real reson given). Also, if you increase the distance between the "softness adjuster" and the "weight transfer adjuster" you can really change the amount of ski presure off throttle and this will really effect the firmness of the ride. Also the demo RX1 ER had special springs so people could feel the effect of the shock.
Silverbullet, over the course of about 2000 mi, I tried a lot of things some as you suggested. I was just pointing out the straps would not be effective. With the expert, the shock calibration was a lot of the problem. It was difficult to find an overall acceptable setting. I did like the concept and would love to try the Yamy setup or talk to someone with significant saddle time on it. I left the fold for a rev this year and am dying to get back into a 4 stroke. It's going to be difficult to determine which is the best. I love the RX1 engine, but some of the RS Vector attributes seem intriguing. Based on the fact that the 600 sdi wasn't enough hp for me (great ride), I am leaning toward the RX1.
