I'm having a dealer put a rear heat exchanger on my 05 RX-1. I've got 1.375" studs, 96 down the middle. Are additional protectors required? I have the feeling that this dealer has not done many, if any, rear heat exchangers.

Not 100% positive but I don't think the heat exchanger on the shorty is in a location where the studs can hit it.

You should have no problems with those studs hitting unless you pogo your sled.

cobalt650 - Studs at 1.375 will not hit the rear exchanger. But they may hit the rear bulkhead, it happend on my '05 RX-1. To prevent this from happening I made extra tunnell protection by using a pair of 7 millimeters thick hyfax. Cutting it down on one side to fit under the existing protectors and riveted them into place.

Thank you much for the tips guys. I had done a search, but the protectors only seemed to apply to the long track versions. Come on, snow
