Hi all,

This might be my first post here and I need some help.

I have a chance to get a new zero miles 05' Vector.

My question is, the price, I can get it for $5,900 OTD, do you think this is a good deal?

Thanks for any help,
-Tom

Probably not bad, but I paid 6300 for a 06 Vec GT in Feb of 07 (08's almost announced). Mine didn't include sales tax.

Get them to install a set of good quality studs or a decent helmet and make the deal. Just make sure the antifreeze is 50/50 (or 60/40, but not any higher)! Many threads on too strong of a mix in the older sleds.

I got an 05 Vector with only 350 miles with about $1000 in mods for $5200 for sale in the classified section. http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php?t=76208

Thanks for asking it didn't hurt! But my wife wants me to get new, zero miles.

It comes with the 1 year warranty.

This is what I get them down to over the phone. With some of the comments made I'm think of going lower, or an extra belt, plugs, something. But this is the sled I wanted a couple of years ago and now I'm so close!!!!!

Again thanks all,
-Tom

Ya, you definitly got to get them to throw in something extra. Most likely they have had the sled since 2004 when the 05 model came out and should make you a pretty good deal. I didnt think dealers still had any 05's left in the showroom.

FWIW
Rock River Power Sports in Jefferson , sold me an 05 Rage for $5250.00 +tx & small doc fee in april of 06 on Ebay.
Surprised to hear about such an old leftover still out there. Can you say where this is?

I didn't want to but I gave them $100 over the phone to hold one for me.

It's Engelhart in Madison Wi. http://www.engelhart.com/other_vehi...riceThru=999999999&ModelSearch=&submit=Search

This is what they told me, they have three Vector two 05' one 06' and it looks like an 06' Venture. They said the Vector were bought at an aution and shipped to them, one 05' came in 10/1 and I spoke to them about it, they said after putting in a new battery it had zero miles on it and it looked like it was never fired up. Too me at first this sounds great, but now I'm not sure as the thing has been setting for 4-5 years.

I'm going go look at it tomorrow and see.

Anyone that want to look into these, by all means go for it, one is mine for sure, if I want it!!!!!

I'm surprised that you've received so many "go for it" responses. As soon as you take that sled off the lot it worth whatever a used 2005 is worth (just like a car). Look around and see what you'll pay for a used 05 Vector...$3500-4000 tops?

It's got the junk rear skid (not to mention the worthless shock), low seat, and old style frame. Don't know what you've been riding but be prepared for a possible letdown.

At the end of last season, 2009 Vector ER's were selling for $7100 OTD. Betcha if you look hard enough, you can still find one. Try calling Joe at Antigo Yamaha....don't talk to anybody else but Joe.

Let Englehart keep your $100 downstroke if they insist on keeping it.

Just my .02!

p.s. their website says $5499 -- still too much!!!!!

Thanks Groomerdriver VERY go points...

I was last riding an 98' SRX from 04' - 08'.........I think the Vector fits me and should be alot better ride then that old SRX!!!!!

I'm going go check it out tomorrow.

From your last post it sounds like they bought this sled not knowing if there were miles on it?
If the sled was never titled and has the warranty intact it sould have been sold wih the cert. of origen from Yamaha.
I agree with groomer driver on the value, and would try to work the price down into the 4's.
If this sled was sold @ auction with the bidders not aware of the miles, I doubt that it was bid very high.
