Hello guys i have an 05 rx-1 with 3900 miles on it i let the sled warm up for over 5 min way after the water light goes out. when i went this morning it would only let me go up to 45 mph i went for a mile and then it went after but when i go there is like a 3 sec delay it boggs and then it goes and it has been doing this for a while not just when i pin it but also when i go half throttle the only way it will go easily if i ease on the throttle. also on a fresh groomed trail before i could go 120mph now with it running i could barley get 105mph what is wrong it is really pissing me off

when were the carbs last cleaned, and did you try to bypass the tors

Clean your carbs, change your plugs and check your exhaust donuts. I bet you have a good exhaust leak causing the power loss and backfire sound.

i assume the carbs were cleaned 700 miles ago when i bought the sled and so were the sparkplugs

All good suggestions. Start with Checking Throttle Cable free-play. If that looks good, bypass TORS, just to rule it out. Then, if you are still having the problem, you are down to carb cleaning. Have the carbs ever been off and cleaned before? Did this start right after a refueling? The reason I asked is, if you got contaminated fuel, there could be more in the tank lurking to wind up in your freshly cleaned carbs. So, if you find evidence of fuel contamination, you may want to consider cleaning out the tank and fuel lines too.
To check for exhaust donut leakage, when cold, start the sled, Put had over tail pipe and watch for exhaust to come out from under the sled. Sometimes you can just hear the leakage when you get you head under the tunnel, when it is running. I had one in my shop yesterday that you could clearly hear the leak, but only after it warmed up good.

Never just assume the carbs were cleaned. Listen to Len he is real good with diagnoises and repair of these motors. Maxdlx

Water in the fuel? Drain the Carbs using the carb drains. See if you can catch the drained fuel and inspect for water. If you have water, then hit it with some drygas. Might have to drain it a couple times, until all you get is clean fuel coming out of the drain.
