Looking for some opinions on a 05 RX1 for my girlfriend, she has a 2000 vmax 500 and is saying she wants something faster, she likes the vmax but i would like to get her a 4 stroke, looked at a few phazer 4 strokes but i dont think there much more faster, or as fast as the vmax. Thanks for your input everyone

Go for it. My wife drove an 04 RX1 last year. The only problem for her was the M-10 suspension I put in it. It made the steering very heavy.

Go for a Vector. Lighter and faster than the Vmax, great ride and economy. 120 hp is 30 more than the Vmax and makes more sense than the RX1.

My spouse hates drivin' the RX-1. She wanted something lighter and more flickable. She was used to one of my 98 ZR 600 LEs. Come to think of it, I would love to have one of the pair I had back, too. They were a lot more fun to ride out in the rough stuff and powder.

I have a Supercharged 2005 RX 1 and love it.
However, Like Lens wife, my wife would not like it. It is a bear to drive. I can not drive it hard in the twisties all day. [ I am getting older though]
A Vector with Mono suspension and 4 1/2 Deuce bars steers easily and is lady friendly. My wife loves her 07 Vector GT
You might just want to go to a 01/02 700 V Max or SXR if she likes her current Chassis. Less money, lighter and better handling than a Vector and a great bulletproof engine. About 30 more HP than her 500 and will be better on gas. Gotta love the triple 2 stroke exhaust note too.

Like the others said, a Vector or Vector LTX (Rage) would be a better option. The models through 2008 have the traditional seating position and they changed the position to more rider forward beginning with the 2009 models.
You guys are lucky, my old lady always wants to ride the latest project with the most HP now she is pacing the floor until I get the turbo mtn. completed.
Her 05 rx is piped (Hauck gyt-r-dun), clutched (heel clicker II), 13 mm bar, ohlins up front, Simmons Skis. She promises to wait for me at the next stop sign but she never does
When I built the stroker Rapex 2 yrs ago she went through the radar at 122 mph on Sunday lake and came back to the pits and said I thought you told me this thing would do 130.

I have a 05 rx1 and it might be a little heavy for her , so vector would be lighter , both faster , than old 6 , if you get a new vector it is a fuelie and in the apex chassis 120 to 126 hp.

Over on HCS they had the dyno results of the "600"Class from the shootout that wasn't last weekend.
The new fuelie Vector was top dog at 131 and change.
