Hello everybody...

I am thinking of buying a 05 RX1 Warrior for my dad...We live in Russia and we get a lot of snow here...We like to go hunting together...

So I wonder how good is RX1 Warrior in Deep Stuff and overall performance???

I've heard thats is quite tipsy and get stuck a lot cause its too heavy and so on...I've even heard it performs like most 2 stroke with 121 in snow...

Please share with me your experinces and opinions...

We need to make a decision!!!

Many Thanks

The warrior isnt designed for Extremely deap snow..... It is for trails and some off trail riding.. (doesnt have moutain skis)

How deap of snow are we talking??? FEET?

I can ride it around in 2 feet of snow with no problems.. But in anything deeper... it has a tough time moving..

Other wise it is a excellent sled..

I think the same it goes through 2 feet pretty well any deeper you sink down and spin alot. With a better nice wide mountain ski it would help. If you dont ride trails consider the mountain.

No trails in Russia... the mountain sleds probably work better tghan Warrior (i own one with turbo) but the RSVentureTF (151x15x1.25 RipSaw) is the perfect sled for you. They don't sell them in the USA but the Canadian guys sure like em for deep-snow, hunting and trail riding. The back end is articulated for easy reversing in deep snow as well you get a big windshield, more storage and mountain skis without losing the stance (43 inch) so not tippy. The Vector engine will run better on shitty lo-ocatne gas as well (another consideration for you) plus you can remove the rear seat and pack it full of Vodka... what more could a fellow need??

Serious, look at the TF, available in Canada and the European distributors only.

good luck

;)!

I also thought that my warrior was good on the trails and fair off the trail in deep snow but I found out that I was very wrong. We were up in Cochrane Ontario this past weekend and at breakfast were deciding which way to head. The next table to us was waiting for their guides to come and take them off trail into the Abitibi Canyons 100 miles north. We have done that trip before and were not that interested untill the 2 guides showed up riding Warriors. That is when we decided to ride up ourselves and see how the guides were in the deep snow. Both of those Warriors have filter kits, Heavy Hitters and really wide skis. One of them even had a homemade filter kit along with homemade skis. When we finally got there it was a sight to see. All the Rev's and Firecats getting stuck off the trail ad the 2 warriors running circles around them to pack the snow. Over 3 feet deep. The were climbing where I thought mountain sleds could only go. Bill from Extreme Tours was having a ball. That gave my friend Tom and I have greater confidence in our own Warriors, so we too tried climbing and breaking trail. Those people who do not think that the Warrior is a good off trail sled are Wrong! I also found out that the ECP filter kit and the HH combo really work. They spanked my stock '04 Warrior pretty bad in the midrange. Rolling start pretty even up top, over 100km/ph This trip made me fall in love with the sled all over again. It out performed my '03 RX1 that I used to have. Great ride. The trip up to Fraserdale along the trail is approx 94 miles and we made it in 1 3/4 hours. Not a bad average.

Yep......... but the rider skill makes quite a bit of difference too.

i think with a little longer of a track and deep lugs on the track, the warrior would be great.

After falling off the trail today because of wind blown snow turning everything into a flat white landscape. Then falling off sled just to add insult. I waded or is that wallowed around in wedding tackle deep snow and climbed back on the sled on the trail side of it.

Half of the sled was under the snow. The other half on the trail. Gunned the throttle and went for a blast across the swamp till the trees where coming up fast and I had to scramble back up on the trail to exit the swamp.

The Simmons do float and the Warrior will handle three feet of snow. I'm thinking that more lug is needed for three feet +. I also agree that if deep snow is your thing look at more lug.

Thanks for your replies guys... ;)!

So many different reviews..so its hard to decide....Rider makes all difference...

I am also thinking of putting SLP PP's skis on Warroir, that should help to go though snow....Just dont stop....

Snow can be deep like 1 meter (dont know how many feet)...

Looked at Venture (my dad likes it) but I wanna have some fun with his sled as well....So Warrior is the only option...

Still havent decides...Is front end really too heavy for deep stuff...

I have also a new 136 x 16 x 1.75 track...Do you guy think it will fit Warrior tunnel....I've 1.5 lug is the max you can go on RX1...

Sled setup and rider skill DEFINITLY!!!

Notice they all had mods done to them to run in the moutains..

No matter what you buy, Mountain or Warrior, they may need to make changes. I agree, the mountain may be a better starting platform. The mountain would need a wide front end kit & that would be a cheaper upgrade than a longer track on a Warrior.

We dont have moutans in Moscow region...151 I think is too long, less manuoverable, less cornering ability and so on...

I want 136 or max 144 track....

No one knows if 136x16x1.75 track will fit Warrior???

If I put skis the nose would not dive, YES...
