Anyone who has done this change inform me what seals/bearings I need ? The parts blow-up is a little confusing. Thanks Paul

most likely you will need the spedo bearing. the chain case side should be ok but make sure you check it while it is out. allballs do make a kit but lots on here prefer oe. on my old 05 war i usually ran about 5000km on the spedo bearing before i ended up replacing it when i replaced a track. at 10000 km the lower bearing in the chain case went so we did all the chaincase bearings the next summer with allballs kits. have not had an issue yet.

I have done it a couple of times on my 2005 Vector. I think I can do it with my eyes closed now! LOL!! Just put in a drive shaft with extrovert drivers (thanks Hibshiman!) and changed all of the bearings and seals while I was in there. Also changed the clutch side bearings as well.

Me? = I prefer the quality of the Yamaha OE bearings that are made by Koyo. Have tried All Balls in the chaincase but had one bearing go after 1500 miles. Not going to try to save money any more on chaincase bearings.....too much work to change them. I only say its too much work because my chaincase halves must be machined on the low side of the tolerance range. The bearings are best pressed in and out and I do not own own a small press.

I'll look up the p/n's and start a list for you. Port Yamaha (a vendor on this site) always seems to have this stuff in stock.

Please refer to Yamaha parts fiche for the correct part numbers:

Clutch side:
Jackshaft brg #18 (found in FRAME)
Drive brg #6 (TRACK DRIVE 1)

Chaincase side: (all found in TRACK DRIVE 2)

Chaincase inner half:
Jackshaft brg #2
Jackshaft seal #4
Drive brg #3
Drive seal #5

Chaincase outer half:
Jackshaft brg #21
Jackshaft seal #22

As time allows I will edit the above to include the Yamaha part numbers.

Note: You may want/need replace the O-rings inside of the Collars and maybe the Collars themselves. The Collars go on the jack and drive shafts then fit inside of the seals. The Collars over time will develop slight groves from the seals. I just replaced the Collars (very slight grooves) and O-rings on my 05 Vector with 16K+ miles. Call me anal but that's OK.
