How much better is the 06 with a mono , than the 05 with the proactive?

How would you describe your riding style? Ditchbanger or trail cruiser? How much do you weigh?

Trail cruiser and 210 with gear
I don't know much about suspensions, but if you noticed, Yamaha has been toying around with the proactive and mono systems for awhile. I have an 05' Vector and when I looked at the new Nytro XTX, I noticed the suspension looks like mine. Anybody else have input on this? My sled handles great, even better in the bumps!

Proactive was better for ditchbanging and big bumps and the mono was better for trail cruising. That seems to be the most common opinions on the 2.

Do the mono's bottom as much on the Vector as they do on the Apex. I have never rode a vector. I have rode an Apex, the big dog did seem to bottom quite easy.

It's the same...but...IMO it's not a big issue to deal with. The price of a revalve is well worth it for the comfort of that skid. I still haven't revalved mine (but will this spring) and bottoming hasn't been too bad. We have both a GT and a RSNytro in our group and the GT is a MUCH nicer ride. The CK has alot of rebound...I much prefer the mono and the RA makes adjustment that much easier.

As others have said IMO you will like the 06 Mono much better. You're borderline for the "Big Boy" spring (should probby put one in anyway) and revalve the shock AFTER you have broken in the spring (500-1000 miles).

I've had both and I think if you pump money in a mono it would be better, but for a guy your weight and riding style, comparing both skids stock for stock, I think the 05 proactive would be better.
