Just put one on my 05 Vector last summer but have't tried it out yet. It is the RS Nitro shock by KYB. Olins also made one too. You can get the KYB through a Yamaha dealer using part #*8GF-47480-00-00.

Just wanted to let you know the shock works "GREAT" It's never rode better. I will put it to the real test next week when I "DO" go north for a week. Trip was moved one week out because of rain. I went over stutter and big woops without hurting my back.. Very controlled. MM.

Yes that's the # on a yamaha parts list.......... Good luck.. The guy I bought this on from just had it re-valved to a more progressive rate.. It sure felt great.... Oh by the way my stock shock had very little resistance when pushed & pulled in and out. MM'

MM glad you are happy with the shock...have a great trip I'm jealous we don't have poop for snow here!!

You could also try guys that sell parts from salvaged sleds. Two of them on this site are hibsham26 and LANEO.
