First time poster... on this forum anyways. I'm looking for a good "quality" silencer for my 06 Apex. I'm looking for best sounding but also want performance. I do understand just replacing silencer will give minimal gains in performance but if it can be had I'll take it. I have my eye on the skinz super-Q. Seen a few videos on youtube and they sound good. I guess what i'm really looking for here is sound clips and a little review on your exhaust and if your willing to post how much you paid and where you ordered from. All reply's will be much appreciated.
Welcome .well ,whatever exhaust you get will end up getting probably be illegal somewhere..i know mine is and i am going to still run it even if i get a ticket!
MBRP and Bender sound very similar in person to me,with Super-Q being the quietest and also from what i have seen the chepe$t.
Hauck Trail which i have ,and Excell sound the best to me imo,and also are the most expensive.
Hindle makes a braket for the rear i believe and you can install one of his silencers .think it was in the works for sometime but not sure if he is selling them?
I have a quick video on You Tube > Yamaha Apex Hauck Full Exhaust .

White Knuckle exhaust sounds good to. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yqdYf6gLgE
Yeah that Ultra Q sounds loud i believe cause of the shop and the concrete ..louder than stock but quieter than the others forsure .
If your wanting a streetbike sound > Excell ,Hauck or another straight- flow -thru -exhaust.all others are like a stock look muffler with different internal designs.
I have heard many in person and they all have a different sound, never heard White Knuckle only on video.
I went with Hauck cause i like the duel exhaust exit,it has 1 main silencer and 2 small ones,Excell was my first choice but didnt like the center exhaust...i could of made my own in the off season but had other things to do..
Im sure whatever you get you will be happy piping it up in front of your buddies

I have the Excell system on my sled. Sounds awesome IMO. I went with it because of the sound, ease of installation, weight savings and the way it cleans up the rear of the sled with the center single exhaust.

Sounds good. I have seen where guys running this exhaust have all that open space where the silencer exits under the seat and to me that looks ridicules. Video below I really like how this guys has cleaned up that open space and installed those panels where the silencer exits under the seat. Is this a kit he has bought with the Excell system or homemade?

That's all part of the Excell exhaust kit.
Here's a vid that shows how the system really sounds.

Wow, Loud for sure. Seems like you'd have a pounding headache after a day of riding with that exhaust. Does sound good though. Where can it be bought. I did a quick search and couldn't find it being sold anywhere.
Its not all that loud. I hear my airbox mod more than I hear the exhaust on my sled. Over 400 miles in one day and no headache.
People that follow don't get a headache from the exhaust note either.
