Hey guys, I haven't been on this forum in about a year... We started a hydrographic dipping business up here in Manitoba so I've been super busy and I wanted to show you a neak peak of my 06 Attak build.

More pics to come!

We've been doing it for about a year now and just started selling recently. It took us this whole year to be comfortable enough with our product to sell it. It was a looong expensive year too! :o|

Hydrographic printing also known as water transfer printing is the same process used to put wood grain and carbon fiber on vehicle interiors and camouflage on rifles and bows.

The process starts by thoroughly cleaning each part.

Once cleaned the part is sanded or scuffed and sprayed with a high grade primer. Then a quality base color to reach a desired effect. (additional steps may be taken for certain plastics and metals.)

A polyvinyl film containing the desired pattern is then placed in our large water tank and sprayed with an activator. The activator dissolves the film, leaving the pattern floating on the surface of the water. The part is then dipped strategically through the pattern into the water, this etches the pattern into the base coat applied earlier.

After the part has been dipped it is rinsed carefully and then dried.

We then apply a high grade automotive clear coat to the part. This gives the part a finished look and makes it as durable as the factory finish on a vehicle.

So to recap it is actually thinner than a coat of paint and has extremely high UV protection.

That is really wicked stuff....I gather you can only do parts that are smooth. I have the side panels on my Nytro painted...could those be done?

Absolutely, I am in the process of doing my side panels as well.

Anything that can be painted can be dipped and customized.

With something that's already been painted after market we may not be able to warranty the work because we don't know how well the paint will hold up once prepped and re-base coated. Normally there are no issues, but since we have no idea weather the plastic was properly prepped before being painted or what products were used we can't be positive.

thanks for the reply...all prep work is good and the panels have been painted for 3 seasons...the guy owns a body shop that specializes in Corvettes. The panels are being repainted within the next couple of weeks ( gloss white ) Just curious, but how much would it cost to get the hood, both side panels and tank piece done in a snake skin...keeping it white...not sure what route I'm going this season..but your stuff looks amazing!

Very impressive!

Nice work ;)!
